  • RENEW Plastics Connects With Community

    • The people at RENEW Plastics are giving back to the community by donating material to the Door Kewaunee Business & Education Partnership (DKBEP) project. This project will teach thirteen Door County high school juniors and seniors how to build a house. The students will frame the home and do the finishing work under the direct guidance of NWTC-contracted instructor Miles Zastrow. Upon successful completion of the project, each student will earn three high school elective credits and 16 transcripted credits for advanced placement in the Wood Technical Diploma program at NWTC.

The Door Kewaunee Business & Education Partnership (DKBEP), Northeast Wisconsin Technical College (NWTC) and the Door County Home Builders Association (DCHBA) have joined forces in an effort to grow the construction industry's skilled workforce while providing real-world learning experiences and credits for Door County high school students.

RENEW Plastics is excited to be involved such a valuable project. These students are learning hands-on skills that they may not have been able to experience without this project. RENEW plastics will donate the decking and railing material used for the house. "At RENEW Plastics, we are a family orientated company with a core value of giving back to the community," said Vern Vincent, Business Unit Leader. The students are constructing the deck and will learn how to use RENEW's environmentally friendly Evolve decking material on April 15, 2008. The people at RENEW Plastics care about the future of the environment and the future and success of the surrounding community's youth.
